SUMMARY:Dedication Sunday
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, November 17\, at 10 a.m.\, we will gather for Dedication Sunday\, a cherished tradition in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) where we collectively offer our pledges to support the church’s mission in the coming year. This year’s theme\, “Here in This Place\,” invites us to reflect on the sacredness of our community and the impact of our shared contributions. As Rev. Dr. Sarah Johnson reminds us\, “Your gift\, whatever its size\, is a significant and essential part of the reach and impact of our collective ministry.” We encourage you to bring your completed pledge cards to the service\, where we will dedicate them together\, affirming our commitment to the work God calls us to do in this place.

SUMMARY:Images for God: Part One
DESCRIPTION:We use metaphors for God all the time: intimate ones like mother and father\, powerful ones like Lord and King. Over two Sundays in the Lincoln Parlor\, Meg House will lead an exploration some less common metaphors from the Hebrew Scriptures: images like Water\, Rock\, and Cloud. We’ll look at scripture\, explore what the metaphor might mean\, and ask\, what difference does this metaphor make? We’ll also take away one idea for a spiritual practice to try over the next week. Light lunch/snacks will be served. (These sessions are based on the book “God is Here\,” by Rabbi Toba Spitzer. No reading necessary!)

SUMMARY:Poinsettia Dedications
DESCRIPTION:Embrace the spirit of Christmas by participating in our beautiful Christmas Flower Dedication tradition. The Diaconal Ministers arrange these blossoms in the Sanctuary\, providing a touching way to honor or remember those who hold a special place in your heart. No matter the contribution amount\, your dedication is a heartfelt gesture. \nAs part of our Christmas celebration\, we’ll recognize your thoughtful contribution by listing your name in the bulletin on December 22 & 24\, allowing the entire congregation to share in your tribute. \nMoreover\, the Board of Diaconal Ministers extends the festive spirit beyond the sanctuary. We are seeking volunteers to help distribute these lovely Christmas plants to members who are homebound or hospitalized\, as well as others within our congregation. If you can lend a hand with this act of kindness\, please indicate your availability on the form. \nFor any inquiries or further assistance\, don’t hesitate to reach out to Gwenn Gebhard. \nSubmit your Poinsettia Dedication here. You can also submit a dedication using a physical form on Sunday\, found at the Usher stations. \nLet’s make this Christmas truly special and memorable\, together.
