SUMMARY:“Pull Up a Seat” Church Retreat Registration
DESCRIPTION:We’ll gather at The Claggett Center in Adamstown\, MD\, from March 6 to 8\, to engage together — through scripture\, reflection\, art\, and recreation — on how we can actively love God and love our neighbors by pulling up a seat and inviting others to do the same. Come Friday through Sunday\, or for part of the time. We’ll have activities for all ages. We don’t want the cost to be a barrier for anyone. Email Pastor Rachel for discounted rates or a scholarship. Whether you join us every year or this is your first time\, we invite you to “Pull up a Seat” and join us! Registration deadline: February 1 \nRegister: https://nyapc.breezechms.com/form/8abc4e5710 \nWe’re also looking for folks to help plan! If you’re interested or have questions\, email Molly Lauer.

SUMMARY:Cuba Supply Drive
DESCRIPTION:In March\, NYAPC is visiting our partner church\, Primera Iglesia Presbiteriana-Reformada de la Habana! This means it is time for the Cuba Partners Committee annual First Havana Supply Drive. Our Cuban friends continue to live in incredibly difficult conditions\, further compounded by the recent U.S. engagement in Venezuela. We have the opportunity to share our abundance with the First Presbyterian-Reformed Church of Havana. Again this year we have created a shopping list through Target. All goods will be shipped directly to NYAPC. This year the biggest needs are powdered milk\, over the counter medicines\, and batteries. There are also options for vitamins and toiletries. If you prefer to purchase outside of the online list donations will be welcomed at the church front desk. Online donations are being managed by our “partners in partnership” at Church of the Pilgrims. Funds for goods or airline baggage fees can be donated on their web site using the Special Offering: Cuba Mission Trip fund option.  \nAlong with the supplies we are soliciting suitcases for trip participants to hand-carry all the donations on our flight to Havana. We also welcome empty/used pill bottles! First Havana (re)uses the bottles when distributing the various medicines. \nAll donations are used to stock First Havana’s medical clinic and “store\,” all provided at no charge to church members and the local community. Please help us bring these items to our Cuban friends by buying online or leaving donations at the front desk! This is a wonderful way to show how much New York Avenue supports First Havana’s many local missions. If you have any questions please contact Aryn Myers. The Presbyterian Cuba Partners Network\, NYAPC\, and First Havana thank you for your support! \n  \nTarget registry: https://www.target.com/gift-registry/gift/nyapc2026 \nGive to the Cuba Supply Drive: https://onrealm.org/pilgrims/-/form/give/now \n  \nMedicines \n\n\n\nAnalgesic cream\nClobetasol\nHidrocortisona\nNeosporin or other antibiotic cream\n\n\nAntacids\nClotrimazol\nHydrocortisone cream\nPepto-Bismol\n\n\nAnti psoriasis cream\nDesitin cream\nIbuprofen/Advil\nPrilosec (can be generic)\n\n\nAnti-Diarrheal medicine\nDiurex or another diuretic\nIcy Hot/Ben Gay\ntriamcinolone\n\n\nAspirin (81mg preferred)\nEnalapril\nLaxatives\nTylenol (acetaminophen)\n\n\nBenadryl (Diphenhydramine)\nGaviscon\nMonistat (clotrimazol)\nChildren’s medicines\n\n\nCaptopril\nGlucosamine with chondroitin\nNaproxen (Alleve)\n\n\n\nClaritin\nHemorrhoid ointment\nNasal spray for congestion\n\n\n\n\n  \nVitamins and Supplements \n\nAdult vitamins with iron\nB complex\nB1\nB12\nB6\nChildren’s vitamins\nDiosmin (a supplement for circulation\, sometimes called Diosmina)\nMagnesium\nMelatonin\nOmega XL\nPotasium\n\n  \nOther Items \n\nAdult diapers (S\, M\, & L)\nFirst Aid materials – bandaids\, gauze\, cotton balls\nHearing aid batteries\nMaxipads\nPowdered Milk\nThermometers\nToilet paper

SUMMARY:Renewing the Micah 6:8 Banners
DESCRIPTION:He has shown you\, O mortal\, what is good.\nAnd what does the Lord require of you?\nTo act justly and to love mercy\nand to walk humbly with your God.\n\nThese words Micah 6:8 have long been NYAPC’s unofficial statement of faith and mission\, wrapped up in one poetic verse. So much so that years ago\, we hung banners with these words on both sides of our building. In fact\, many of us have stories of people noticing the banners\, of friends and visitors who say “that’s what I want a church to stand for.”\n\nFrom time to time\, these banners need repair! Wear and tear have damaged the banners and brackets\, and one had to be removed. Replacing them is not in our 2026 budget\, but what better time for our church to refresh these banners\, these words\, for anyone who passes by?\n\nCan you help? Communications Manager Kirstin Beck has found a vendor to replace the banners and install new\, reinforced brackets. And we already have $3500 pledged toward an estimated cost of $13\,000. \n\nIf 20 people give $500 each\, or if 40 give $250 each\, we’ll have what we need\, but that is not in everyone’s budget. All gifts are valued: Some will give less\, so we ask those who can to give more.\n\nTo donate\, send a check with “banner fund” in the memo line or choose “banner fund” in the online giving drop down menu. If we are so fortunate to have more than we need\, the money will go toward other signage that makes our church more welcoming and visible to all.\n\nThank you!\n\nnyapc.Give Now
