Joining the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church
What is Membership?
Becoming a member of NYAPC means that you want to participate in the life of the church through giving your time and talents. We celebrate every stage of the spiritual journey - exploration, visiting, and growing in faith. There are many ways to serve and participate without joining, but becoming a member allows you to participate fully: Members vote in church meetings, serve on the boards of the church, and give financially to support the church.
Want to find out more?
There are several ways you can find out more. You can sign up for our weekly email to keep up with events and announcements. You can also fill out this form to let us know you'd like to find out more. If you'd like to talk to someone one on one, contact one of our pastors, or email member Paul Dornan through the church office at 202-393-3700 or adminoffice@nyapc.org.
Joining the Church
To join, we ask that you come to our New Members Classes. In these classes, you, other prospective members, and current members share our faith stories so far; learn about the Reformed tradition and see how that tradition works itself out in the life and witness of the New York Avenue congregation; and consider how we might practice our faith in our everyday lives. Classes form as there is interest. Contact the pastors or Paul Dornan by contacting the office at 202-393-3700 or adminoffice@nyapc.org.
Note: The next New Members class is on October 16, 2022 at 12pm.
