Author of “Dear White Christians” joins us this Saturday!
Dear Friends,
There is a growing discussion among people of faith – and also among several people running for President – about what steps our country should take to address the harm that has been caused by our nation’s racism, especially as it was directed towards African-Americans.
If you are interested in this topic, please join us this Saturday morning at 10:00 am for a McClendon Scholar Program featuring Dr. Jennifer Harvey of Drake University. Her book, Dear White Christians, addresses this issue and she has spoken widely on this topic across the country.

Dr. Harvey will address questions like:
- What does it mean to have racial reconciliation?
- What should be done to repair the harm caused by centuries of institutionalized racism?
- Is some form of reparations or other programs targeted at “repairing harm” needed at this time?
As with most of our McClendon Scholar programs, there will be plenty of time to ask questions of Dr. Harvey and talk with others who are present. Click here to see a flyer with all the basic information.
Please come early if you can to enjoy coffee and breakfast snacks that will be available at 9:30 am. Child care will be provided and free parking is available at Green Street Parking on H Street between 12th and 13th.
I hope to see you on Saturday morning and please feel free to give me a call if you need more information or have other questions.
Blessings to you,
Theo Brown, Director McClendon Scholar Program
