Embrace Your Spiritual Journey

Whether you have worshiped with us in person at New York Avenue and H Street or met us through online worship, we invite you to consider belonging to our congregation through membership.

Becoming a member at NYAPC is a way to express your commitment to participating in and supporting what God is doing through this congregation. Membership means you want to commit to making New York Avenue your spiritual home, participating fully in the church’s life through spiritual growth, service, and giving of your financial resources. Members can also vote in church meetings and serve on church leadership boards.

To join, we ask that you come to a New Members Class. In these classes, you, other prospective members, and current members will share faith stories, learn about the history and mission of this church, and understand more about the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and Reformed Tradition. The next New Member Class is October 20 at 8:30 am. More information below.

If you are unsure about membership, but want to ask questions and learn more about the church, come to our Newcomers’ Coffee with the Pastor on September 15 at 11:30 am. Go to the event’s page to learn more.

At NYAPC, we celebrate every stage of the spiritual journey – exploration, visiting, and growing in faith. There are many ways to serve and participate without becoming an official church member, and wherever you are on your faith journey, we are glad you are here!

Upcoming New Member Class

October 20 | 11:30 am

This is an exciting opportunity to explore joining our church community and discover how you can contribute and connect with others. During this class, we will have the chance to share our faith stories, gain insights into what it means to be a part of a Presbyterian church, and explore the various ways you can both receive support and make a meaningful impact within the NYAPC community. As a bonus, a delicious lunch will be served!
