“Prophetic Preaching in a Tone-Deaf Culture” with Kenyatta Gilbert

Dean Kenyatta Gilbert will give a presentation examining what it means to preach about justice and work for it daily. He will share insights from the African-American religious tradition that can help churches and individuals become more effective prophetic witnesses. After his remarks, he will dialogue with Rev. Lionel Edmonds, a Washington, DC, pastor and social justice activist.

Kenyatta R. Gilbert, PhD, is the dean of Howard University’s School of Divinity. Since 2006, Gilbert has been a professor of homiletics at Howard University’s School of Divinity and is a nationally- recognized expert on African American preaching.  He will be with us on three occasions:
